In the capital Abuja, supporters of Tinubu took to the streets to celebrate the election result.

The opposition did not accept

After Tinibu's victory was announced by the Election Commission, voices rose from the opposition. The PDP and LP demanded a re-vote, claiming that the election result was fraudulent. However, the Election Commission denied the allegations and stated that the election took place in a "free, fair and reliable" environment. Many election observers, including the European Union (EU), criticized the transparency of the results.
